A: We are a privately owned company that brings Art Instruction into schools and homes all over the Las Vegas community.

Q: How long has ART CLASSES for kids been in business?

A: We began with private instruction in 1990. Soon after group instruction which includes art camps, art parties and after school art programs followed.

Q: What is ART CLASSES for kids best known for?

A: We are best known for the enthusiasm, experience and expertise of our instructors and for our dynamic methods of engaging kids in Fine Art through challenging and progressive art projects.

Q: At what age can a child attend an ART CLASS?

A: Most of our group classes are for kids age 5 through 12 years. We accept older or younger kids through our private lesson program.

Q: What type of Art does ART CLASSES for kids instruct?

A: We specialize in Drawing, Painting and Sculpting with creative projects inspired by famous artists and historical art movements.

Q: Where does ART CLASSES for kids conduct their classes?

A: We go to several facilities in the Las Vegas community. Most of our classes are at schools in the Green Valley and Summerlin neighborhoods. (see calendar maps for more details)

Q: Other than group classes, what other programs do you offer?

A: We offer Private Lessons, Art Camps, Art Parties and Teacher Workshops.

Q: Do many boys attend your ART CLASSES?

A: LOTS! About 30% of our clients are boys. They love making creative works and have just as many skills as the girls. ...Remember most of the famous artists are men!

Q: Do I have to Pre-Register?

A: No. You don't have to, but it is the only way you can take advantage of our discounts. We offer a special price which is about 33% off per class when you pre-register for an Art-After-School program. During the summer, our largeest discount is $20 off camp for signing up early. There is a very small profit margin for our art camps and for this reason we can't afford to discount any more. More than 50% of last years campers registered by May 1st and received $20 off.

Q: Do you give Sibling Discounts?

A: Unfortunately we do not. A large percentage of our students attend with a sibling. If we gave discounts to these students it would force us to raise our rates, which we've been able to keep the same for 7 years. We do however offer discounts when people pay in advance. Paying in advance helps us to be more organized and saves us time! We are also able to purchase supplies in bulk to save $ whish helps us to keep our prices the same too.

Q: Why do Art Classes cost more than Chess Class, Ballet, or Soccer?

A: Art Materials are Expensive! At least the supplies that we choose to let you make quality Fine Art projects with. We also pay our instructors an above average wage because they are Above-Average with their skills and knowledge.

Q: How do students complete complex art projects so quickly in one of your classes?

A: With the help of our staff who spend hours doing research and preparing for each class. The instructors actually spend more time outside of class "prepping", than they do instructing once in the class. This makes it possible to get right into making a great work of art that students can take home and be proud of.

Q: How do I get on your Mailing List?

A: You can e-mail your address to: kim@artclassesforkids.com We send out 2 to 3 mailings with new class schedules each year. Our Art Camp information goes into the mail in the beginning of March each year. This same information can be found here on our website.

Q: What happens when my kids get too old for your classes?

A: Only our group classes have an age restriction which is for 5 - 12 year olds. You can take private lessons when you feel too old for the rest of the kids in your group class. We can also help those who would like to pursue art in finding additional classes in the community for kids their age. In our Private Lesson Program we often help kids to build a portfolio to apply for either an Art Specialty High School or for a college scholorship. During the summer we offer one week of "Teen Camp" which is open to kids from ages 10 - 14 years old.
